Venga Boys and Ace Of Base unrecognisable as they perform at 90s legends festival

VENGABOYS looked unrecognisable as they performed at a 90s legends festival.

The group – who shot to fame in 1997 – were one of the acts who performed at the Back 2 festival in Catton Park in South Derbyshire over the weekend.

Kim Sasabone, Denise Post-Van Rijswijk, Robin Pors and Donny Latupeirissa returned to the stage once more to sing some of their most popular songs such as We Like To Party, We’re Going To Ibiza and Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!

The festival – which took place between Thursday 30 June and Sunday 3 July – had more than 10,000 visitors a day.

The popular band were joined by other pop and dance acts such as Steps, Aqua, Cascada, S Club and East 17.

The Dutch Eurodance group shot to fame in 1997 as Kim Sasabone, Denise Post-Van Rijswijk, Roy den Burger and Robin Pors.

Yorick Bakker later joined the band in 1999 when Robin left.

They released their first album Up & Down – The Party Album a year later, and managed to place at number six in the UK charts.

Two years later they released their platinum album which peaked at number nine in the UK.

In 2002 they decided to take a break.

When the made a comeback in 2006 only Kim, Denise and Yorick returned, but left in 2009 and Robin replaced him.

Donny also joined the band in 2006.

They later released a single Rocket to Uranus with Pete Burns in 2012 and released The X-mas Party Album in November 2014.

In 2019 they celebrated their 20th anniversary with Boom, boom, Boom, Boom!! – Unplugged and We’re going to Ibiza! – Unplugged.

Last September they performed in the Nostalgia: Electric Circus festival.
