USC QB Kedon Slovis day-to-day with lower leg injury

LOS ANGELES — USC quarterback Kedon Slovis was a non-participant during Tuesday’s practice after suffering a lower leg injury during Saturday’s loss to Arizona State.

Slovis did not wear pads and instead had a sleeve on his left knee. He walked with a slight limp as the team ended practice early.

Interim head coach Donte Williams described Slovis as day-to-day moving forward, and was not sure if the junior quarterback would be able to practice this week. The coach also was uncertain exactly when Slovis injured the leg.

“It’s one of those things, during a game you have a million injuries but the adrenaline and everything else is rushing so you somehow, some way continue to keep playing,” Williams said.

Slovis is a third-year starter at USC but has split time at quarterback the last two weeks with true freshman Jaxson Dart. This season, Slovis has completed 65% of his passes for 2,153 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Defensive end Korey Foreman suffered a concussion against Arizona State, Williams said Tuesday. Foreman was on the sideline in street clothes watching practice. But tight end Michael Trigg wore pads for the first time since a lower leg injury suffered against Utah in Week 5.
