Is Peyton Manning Hosting The CMA Awards? Where To Watch and How

Luke Bryan is no new to the country music awards, but hosting the CMA awards would be the first time for Peyton. Luke, who hosted the show alone last year, said that it is fun to have Peyton Manning with him to host the biggest country music awards.

He added that he did not do a good enough job last time and had to go to Manning this year. According to ESPN, when he heard about Peyton being the one who would be sharing the stage with him, he did not hesitate. They have become good friends through the years.

Manning, who comes from a sports background, said that Bryan knows the industry as he works with them, but for him, he is a fan who has a great appreciation for the talents of all men and women.

Other Sportspersons Who Have Hosted Music Awards Show

Payton is not the only sportsperson hosting a music awards show. There are four other personalities from sports backgrounds who have hosted music awards previously, writes Billboard.

One is J.J. Watt, the defensive end for the Arizona Cardinals. He co-hosted CMT Music Awards with Erin Andrews in 2016.

Likewise, Terry Bradshaw, former quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was a co-host alongside Lee Ann Womack in the TNN Music City News Country Awards in 2001.

In 1989, Ahmad Rashad, former wide receiver for the St. Louis Cardinals, was a co-host in the 3rd Soul Train Music Awards. His co-hosts were Dionne Warwick and Patti LaBelle. And the show took place in Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles.

Similarly, in 1981, Don Meredith hosted the 16th Academy of Country Music Awards alongside  Larry Gatlin and Tammy Wynette. He was a former football quarterback for Dallas Cowboys.

There are some Some major collaborations this year will be that of Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce, and Kelly Clarkson; Brothers Osborne and War & Treaty; Hardy and Lainey Wilson, Thomas Rhett, and Katy Perry; Zac Brown Band will be seen with Jimmie Allen and Marcus King and Ashley McBryde will be joined by Brandy Clark, Caylee Hammack, Pillbox Patti, and John Osborne.

Major Nomination In CMA Awards In 2022

This year’s major nominees include Ashley McBryde, Chris Stapleton, Carly Pearce, and Shane McAnally. All of them have five nominations each.

Lainey Wilson, a new candidate, has nominations in six categories, including album of the year, song of the year, and female vocalist of the year.

Likewise, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, and Morgan Wallen are nominated as performer of the year.
