The Brusco family, Mick, and Jennifer welcomed Mitchie into the world on February 20, 1997. He started skating when he was three years old after seeing a skateboard on sale at Target.

He is the fourth of five children of his parents. After observing Brusco skateboarding around the home, his mother started taking him to skateparks.

Brusco’s initial sponsorship came from a neighborhood skate shop named “Trickwood,” which encouraged him to join their local skate team after being impressed by his skills at such a young age. Brusco also up the moniker “Little Tricky” at the skate shop.

Brusco was the second skateboarder to land a 900 on a giant ramp in July 2011. Until Tom Schaar, at 12 years old, broke this record in October of that same year, 14-year-old Brusco was the youngest person to successfully finish a 900 at the time.

In the Big Air skateboard competition at the X Games XVIII, Brusco made history by landing the first ever 900.

On May 17, 2013, Brusco accomplished three firsts for skateboarders: he landed a successful 1080 on the MegaRamp, won the Big Air competition at the X Games and was only the third person ever to do so.

He hit his second 1080 and won his first X Games gold medal in 2018, at the large air competition at the X Games Minneapolis. Brusco was the first skateboarder to land 1260 in a big air competition in August 2019.
