Friends cast release joint statement after Matthew Perry death

The Friends cast have broken their silence as they mourn one of their own.

Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer have released a joint statement two days after their co-star Matthew Perry’s sudden death.

“We are a family”

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew,” the statement to PEOPLE reads.

It continues, “We were more than just cast mates. We are a family.

“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.

“In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”

They signed off the message ‘Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc and Schwimmer.’

“He’s already busy making everyone laugh up there”

It comes after fellow castmates reacted to Perry’s death in recent days.

“What a loss. The world will miss you Matthew Perry,” Maggie Wheeler (who played Chandler’s girlfriend Janice) posted to Instagram on Sunday.

“He was lovely to me on Friends and every time I saw him in the decades after,” Paget Brewster, who played another of Chandler’s girlfriends, wrote.

She added, “Please read his book. It was his legacy to help. He won’t rest in peace though… he’s already too busy making everyone laugh up there.”

Then Morgan Fairchild (Chandler’s mum on the show) shared to X, “I’m heartbroken about the untimely death of my ‘son’, Matthew Perry.”

“The loss of such a brilliant young actor is a shock.”
