Elden Ring Pacifist Rune Farm Yields 100,000 Runes Easily

An Elden Ring player has already discovered the quickest way to farm Runes in the newest FromSoftware game, and the strategy does not even require the player to draw a weapon. No game in the Dark Souls franchise is for the faint of heart and the new installment is no exception. In fact, Elden Ring’s creator apologized for its difficulty already, less than a week after Elden Ring went live.

As with any Dark Souls game, Elden Ring can be made significantly easier with some strategic acquisition of Runes to level up players’ important stats early on. Other games in the Dark Souls franchise have well-known routes players can run through to quickly farm for Souls (the name for currency and experience in previous titles in the series) or convenient bonfires located near large groups of enemies for the player to quickly slaughter before resting to bring them all back and repeating the whole process to taste. While the game offers lots of new features and elements, Elden Ring is similar to previous FromSoft games in many ways like this.

Elden Ring has only been out for a handful of days but already an extremely efficient Rune-farming path has been discovered. The path was figured out by YouTuber and content creator TagBackTV, who explained the path, as well as a quick exploit to poison a boss to death for an easy 42,000 Runes along the way, in a recent video. Of all the farming methods found in previous Souls games, this one might take the cake for efficiency generating nearly 2,000 Runes per repetition. TagBackTV managed to repeat the route as many as five times per minute, meaning a player could earn 10,000 Souls in 60 seconds, or almost 600,000 in an hour.

The farming exploit to gather Runes in Elden Ring does not require the player to swing a blade even once, as users must simply outrun certain enemies to reach a given location and then dodge around a boulder and let gravity do the work for them. Players can make their way to the Third Church of Marika near the border of Caelid. Traveling for this strategy is advised during the day, as there are many enemies along the roads at night that could attack unexpectedly if they happen to get a lucky shot. Near the church is a portal that Elden Ring‘s Tarnished must go through to reach the Site of Grace at Lenne’s Rise, past the bridge with the dragon. After activating the Site of Grace, players can head down the slope until the boulder spawns, dodge around it, watch it roll off the edge, and rake in the Runes.

This strategy is an extremely convenient way for Elden Ring players to acquire Runes to make their journey through the difficult landscape of the Lands Between a bit easier. Chances are, Elden Ring will still find a way to give users a run for their money with its high difficulty levels, but at least with the added Runes, players might have a better chance of making it through. For players who don’t mind grinding a bit, this is a great way to get a head start on leveling up a Tarnished before the going gets too tough.
