Carmen Blackwell is an American award-winning and Emmy-nominated journalist well known for her storytelling on both local and national levels. Currently, she works as a full-time anchor and reporter at WKYC Studios in Cleveland, Ohio since January 2022. Previously, she worked as a full-time reporter for Fox Television Stations in Phoenix, Arizona for 3 years and 1 month.
Carmen went to Destrehan High School in Destrehan, Louisiana. Later on, she attended the University of Louisiana Monroe graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. In addition, she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority Sigma Alpha Pi. Blackwell was also a Louisiana Association of Broadcasters Scholarship Recipient and a member of the Phi Tau Gamma.
In addition, she was a member of The Hawkeye Campus Newspaper, HawkE-TV and was honoured as one of the Best TV News feature reporters at the Southeast Journalism Conference in 2015. Regardless, Carmen was also the second position in the College Media Association Convention Best Newscast in 2015. She is also a member of the national honor society of leadership and success and the Vice President of social media in the Arizona Association of Black Journalists.

She was also the morning anchor/ reporter for KALB-TV in Alexandria, Louisiana from October 2016 to February 2018.
